Barista vs Teal: autofill, tracking and CVs compared

Barista and Teal side by side: autofill, job tracking, resume tools and price, with sources, and who each one suits.

The short answer

Barista is built to fill application forms on careers sites, including the parts that trip up simple fillers, and it saves each application it fills to a tracker with its date. Guap adds a CV check against a job and an editor to fix what it finds, and its AI drafts are paid one at a time from credit that never expires.

Teal starts from the other end. It began as a resume builder and job tracker, and its Chrome extension saves jobs from job boards and can fill applications. Its strength is the resume side: templates, keyword matching against a job, and AI writing for bullets, summaries and cover letters. Guap has no template-based resume builder.

Where Barista is better

  • Filling forms is the main job. Barista handles the parts of application forms that trip up simple fillers: custom dropdowns, Yes/No buttons, location searches and the CV upload. The Greenhouse and Ashby pages explain how. Teal’s autofill page names “major job boards” without a list.
  • Tracking without typing. The applications Barista fills land in your tracker with their dates, and are marked sent when you submit.
  • No subscription. AI drafts are paid one at a time from credit that does not expire. The pricing page lists each price. Teal+ is billed every 7, 30 or 90 days.
  • Jobs in Europe. Guap lists roles for students and early-career people in Europe, and its free ATS CV checker needs no account.

Where Teal differs

  • Building a resume. Teal’s builder, templates and keyword matching are its core product, so it gives you more to work with if you are writing your first CV from nothing.
  • Collecting jobs from boards. Its extension saves postings from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and dozens more into one list, before you decide where to apply.
  • Unlimited job tracking on the free plan, with contacts and companies alongside the jobs you save.
  • Track record. On 13 October 2026 its store listing showed a 4.9 rating from about 3,200 ratings and 200,000 users (store listing). Barista is new.

Which one to pick

Pick Barista if your CV is ready and the time goes on filling forms, especially on employers’ own careers sites, and you want each application tracked as you send it.

Pick Teal if your CV is the problem: you need a builder, templates and help matching it to each job, and you want to collect postings from many job boards in one place.

They overlap less than it looks. Writing your CV in one and filling forms with the other is a reasonable setup.

How we compared

Guap makes Barista and wrote this page, so read it knowing that. We read Teal’s pricing page, its extension and autofill pages, its privacy policy and its Chrome Web Store listing on 13 October 2026, and every claim about Teal links to the page that makes it. What this page says about Barista is what its code does on that date. If something has changed, write to friend@guap.work and we will correct it.

Questions

Is Teal free?

Teal has a free plan with unlimited resumes and job tracking and a small number of AI credits. Teal+ removes the AI limits and is billed every 7, 30 or 90 days.

Does Barista build resumes like Teal?

No. Guap reads the CV you already have, checks it against a job and helps you fix what the check finds, but it has no template builder. Barista then attaches your CV to application forms.

Can I use Teal and Barista together?

Yes, for different jobs: Teal for writing your resume and saving postings, Barista for filling the application forms. On a given form, use one autofill tool at a time so they do not fill the same fields twice.
